Life Celebration Services were held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Eloise was born March 21, 1938, in Flowood, Mississippi, a daughter of the late William E. Barnhill and Annie Lee Cotton Barnhill, and step-mother, Josie Bell Sanders Barnhill.
She retired after several years as an office manager in the trucking industry. She was a long time member of Pearl United Methodist Church where she enjoyed helping with the annual fall festival and other church activities until her health prevented her from doing so.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her family was at the heart of everything Eloise did. From the moment her grandchildren were born, they were her world. Whatever the grandchildren were interested in, she was interested in, and you could find her at every sporting event or school activity, rain or shine. Eloise made Christmas and birthdays amazingly special for her grandchildren. Be it a momentous occasion or a routine day, everyday Eloise had with her family was memorable, and the legacy of love she leaves to them will always be treasured.
In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Buena Roberts; and siblings, Tom Barnhill, Leon Barnhill, Billie Richardson, and Virgie Osbourne.
Survivors include sons, Chuck Roberts and wife Cherry, and David Roberts; daughters, Teressa Wade and husband Chris, and Debbie Roberts; sisters, Shirley Ogletree, Juanita Elliott, and Evelyn “Punkie” Self; grandchildren, Justin Roberts, Cameron Roberts, Anna Roberts, Hillary Roberts, Will Roberts, Hannah Byrd, and Swayzie Wade; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Byrd, Maddox Byrd, John Michael Macdonald, Parker Macdonald and Baby Girl Roberts due 9/29/2018.
Memorials may be made to the Center for Violence Prevention in Pearl.
