Born January 2, 1944 in Polkville, Mississippi to the late Harsh Lee Searcy and Laura Mae Hales Searcy, Dwight was a graduate of Morton High School. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. The veteran went on to make a career as a butcher, but Dwight's passion in life was in beekeeping. He attended First Baptist Church in Florence and was an active member of the Mississippi Beekeepers Association. He was an avid fan of Ole Miss Football, of which he attended and watched games every chance he could. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, preceding him in death are his brothers, John Searcy and Wright Searcy and his sister Nancy Wilson.
Continuing to cherish his memory on this Earth is his beloved wife of 52 years, Sammie Hamilton Searcy; sons, Marion "Lynn" Searcy (wife, Patricia Searcy), and Daniel Searcy; grandchildren Hunter Searcy, Jordan Searcy and Leo Searcy; sister, Pearlie Jane Bowling; plus a number of other beloved extended family members and friends.
Dwight will be so deeply missed. He touched many people's lives and hearts during his time here on Earth.
A special thanks is due to Patricia Searcy. She was an angel on Earth for Mr. Dwight these last few months, providing special care unmatched by anyone else. Also, the family would like to extend deepest appreciation to Mr. Glenn Adcock and the Faucets.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.baldwinleepearl.com for the Searcy family.
