Billy was born November 20, 1947, in Belzoni, Mississippi, a son of the late Oli Felt "Son" Pinkerton and Annie Mae Dewett Pinkerton. He was raised in the Baptist church in Belzoni and Billy held a strong faith in the Lord throughout his life.
Billy served our country as a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp. and was a Vietnam War veteran. A skilled electrician Billy specialized in electric signage, and his career spanned more than 50 years. In his free time he enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite Ole Miss games.
Billy's family was central in his life and his favorite times were spent with them. He was most content when with his beloved grandchildren and he was sure to attend as many of their sporting events as possible.
In addition to his parents Billy was preceded in death by his son, Lee Pinkerton; and siblings, Wiley Pinkerton, and Peggy McMorrough.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brenda Jones Pinkerton; son, Corey Pinkerton and wife Nicole; grandchildren, Haleigh Pinkerton, Carter Pinkerton, Parker Pinkerton, and Gracie Pinkerton; sisters, Gladys Jenkins, and Brenda Donahoo; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am until 11:00am, Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Glenwood Memorial Park with military honors.
