Suzanne Grace Maiden, born on April Fool’s Day 1961 in Camden New Jersey to Eleanor and Glenn McMillin, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 26, 2019 at the age of 57 of complications from cancer.
Until her last day, Suzanne was a steadfast beacon of love in a sea of searching souls - seekers of healing, meaning, and fulfillment. She connected with people at the soul level seeing beyond the faces, masks, and personas we all wear. She had the incredible gift of making everyone she met feel like they were her best friends.
While Suzanne gladly enjoyed the latest in earthly fashions, food, and fun, she also committed to her personal growth intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Suzanne earned a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Counseling, with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. Decades of Jungian analysis and her commitment to spiritual growth guided her to ever higher levels of understanding, compassion, and connection. She not only believed, but knew, “Only love is real.” Just months before her death, she published her book, “Spirit Untethered.”
Suzanne is preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor McMillin and her brother, Robert McMillin, and nephew, Douglas McMillin. She is survived by her husband, Robin Maiden; son, Max Maiden; father, Glenn McMillin; and brothers, James and Mark McMillin.
The name Suzanne fittingly means ‘Graceful Lily.’ She loved flowers. So, please buy flowers. And...please don't send them, but rather put them on your kitchen table to enjoy and remember Suzanne--That’s EXACTLY what she would have wanted! Suzanne was a mental health advocate and supporter of our Veterans and First Responders. If you’d like to make a donation, please consider the GarySiniseFoundation.org.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Peachtree City Christian Church at 500 Kedron Drive, Peachtree City. Suzanne’s ashes will be spread across the places she loved. Suzanne loved to dress up and wear her fancy Easter hats. So wear your favorite hat and colorful clothing to celebrate her life.
