Steven “Steve” Robert Watrous, 73, of Peachtree City, GA passed away, after an extended illness, on Wednesday, May, 15, 2024. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on March 7, 1951. He was the first born, and only son, to Robert and Kathryn Watrous.
Steve will be fondly remembered among many special friends and colleagues following a long successful career as a Customs Broker and freight forwarding Executive at both Bruce Duncan and D. J. Powers Companies. National and International work and travel brought many joyful experiences and treasured partnerships to his life.
He is survived by his wife, Christy Brown Watrous of Peachtree City, GA and Telfair County, GA; his sister, Pam Mock of Redondo Beach, CA; and niece, Alison Conrad (Matt) and their three children-Katie, Will, and Kennedy of Mission Viejo CA. Extended family includes his step-son, Bobby Damon of Acworth, GA; his step-granddaughter, Lexie Franklin (Matthew); great-grandson, Aidan; his step-daughter, Cindy Thompson of Valdosta, GA; step-granddaughter, India Thompson; as well as great-grands, Tyler and Kyleigh McKnight in New York City; step-grandson, Garrett Thompson also resides in Valdosta, GA; many special cousins and their families remain in CA. His beloved Shih Tsu pets, Buster and Mia will also miss him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home,135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269, on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 2:00pm-5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Stroke Association (www.stroke.org) or to the Real Life Center (reallifecenter.org), a mission of Dogwood Church (Tyrone, GA) are encouraged.
