Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Judith Hulsman Caudle, 80, a resident of Newnan, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 9, 2020 of complications from pneumonia. She was born October 28, 1939 in Coral Gables, Florida, the daughter of David Llewellyn Hulsman and Hazel Carlyl Gill. Judy grew up in Miami and loved her Florida home. She attended Coral Gables High School where she graduated in 1957 and went on to attend Florida State University, earning her degree in elementary education in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas James Caudle, in Coral Gables on April 26, 1962. Together they raised their three children in their home in the Kendall neighborhood of Miami, Florida, and then later moved to Peachtree City, Georgia in 1982 to be closer to family.
A devoted wife and mother, Judy shared 57 years of marriage with Tom, whom she reunites with now in Heaven. She was happiest when spending time with her family and grandchildren. Judy knew how to make family moments special and will be remembered by her children and grandchildren for her magical Easter egg hunts and beautifully decorated Christmas trees. A self-described shop-a-holic, Judy always loved a good sale and was a generous gift-giver. With kids and grandchildren spread out across the East Coast, she made everyone feel loved through thoughtful cards and care packages on even the smallest holidays. Judy’s sweetness was balanced with a wry sense of humor which was always taking her friends and family by surprise and making them laugh.
A woman of deep faith, she was an active member of All Saints Anglican Church in Fayetteville, where she could be found helping to arrange the flowers for Sunday service or with her dear friends in Daughters of the Holy Cross meetings. Judy faced many health struggles in the later decades of her life, surviving numerous battles with cancer. Her courage and strong will combined with the support of her faith carried her through. The family would like to thank All Saints for their incredible support, love and prayers for Judy and her family.
Judy is survived by her sons Bill and Robert and daughter Susan and their families. Also surviving are her three grandchildren, Katie, Will and Mike as well as Judy’s sister, Elinor, and many loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at All Saints Anglican Church, 149 Ebenezer Road, Fayetteville, GA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to All Saints Anglican Church.
