Gary knew no strangers, he loved and trusted with his whole heart. The time spent with dear life-long friends and family were his treasure. He was born a Christmas Day Baby and hung the Santa stocking he was brought home from the hospital in each year during the holiday season. Gary grew up in the Atlanta area and graduated from North Clayton High School then found his way to California (via Albuquerque) and spent many years “living the dream”. He loved the ocean, crabbing and fishing. In fact, if he didn’t answer his phone, it was most likely because he was enjoying the rolling waves of the ocean.
Most of all Gary loved family. He was always reaching out to talk with close and distant family and friends remembering old times, and of course laughing and telling jokes. If you knew Gary, you knew his sense of humor! Everywhere he went, he filled the room with his laughter and jokes.
We encourage you to share a photo and/or memory – or maybe your funniest joke or story about Gary to celebrate the life of our brother and friend.
Gary leaves behind an Aunt; Peggy Fritts, sister; Courtney Rozear, significant other; Susan Davis, and sister/cousin; Sheri McBride; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
In lieu of flowers, please make a gift in Gary’s name to The Boys & Girls Clubs of America www.donate.bgca.org.
