Dennis Lawson Clark passed away on May 27, 2022, at the age of 74. He was a brilliant, funny, kind, and compassionate man who was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He leaves behind an amazing legacy for his family. He was a wonderful father and the best grandfather any child could ask for. He also leaves a heartache that may never go away.
Dennis was born in Augusta, GA, and was the oldest of 3 children. He was known to be adventurous and had a love of motorcycles starting at a young age. He graduated from Richmond Academy and joined the Air Force where he was trained to be a radio operator. He was honorably discharged then earned his A&P license to become an aircraft mechanic. He worked for several airlines including Eastern and Northwest. He had an intense love of flying and later became a private pilot and even built his own experimental aircraft, the Q2.
He is survived by his daughters Catherine Clark, Carolyn Bateman, and Teruko Jenema as well as his grandchildren, Andrew Fleischer, Henry Clark, Trinity Jenema, Natalie Fleischer, and Riley Jenema. He is also survived by his sister Ann Ensley and brother James Clark.
From his daughters: Dad, we hope you are flying a Q2 over the mountains and all your memories are intact. We will miss you every moment of every day and we will continue to make you proud. We couldn’t have asked for a more amazing father, hero, superman, teacher, guide through life, and fixer of all things. We will love you forever.
