Robert “Kent” Borger, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2015 in Nampa, Idaho. Kent was born in Kansas on April 16, 1936. After High School, Kent joined the Army and served in Hawaii and Oklahoma. Kent was proud of his military service and in his retirement years served as president of his local VFW. After his military service, Kent returned to his hometown in Kansas and married Neva Jo Rogers. Kent and Neva had three sons, Kevin, Kenton, and Kyle. During his career, Kent worked in and managed Co-ops around Kansas and Colorado. He was especially adept at selling grain in the futures market. Kent was preceded in death by his wife Neva in 1992. Kent then met and married Helen Hall in 1993. Helen’s three daughters became family to Kent. After Kent retired, they moved to Payette, Idaho to be closer to family. As a young adult Kent accepted Christ as his Savior and began to attend the Nazarene church in Scott City, KS. He has attended the Church of the Nazarene since that time. He served on church boards and in many other capacities in his local church.
Kent is survived by his wife Helen, his children Kevin (Cathy), Kenton (Lisa), Kyle (Marlane), as well as step-daughters Marlane (Kyle), Maxine (Jeff), and Dorothy, his grandchildren Collin (Lizzy), Kelsey, Rachel, Aaron, Hannah, Rebekah, Sarah, Joshua, as well as Great-grandchildren Cayden, Caleb, and Katelyn. He is also survived by a brother Gerald (Mavis) and sister Avis (Delroy).
Funeral services will be held at Payette Church of the Nazarene on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at 2:00. Kent will be laid to rest in Longmont, CO next to his first wife Neva.
