Maxine Virginia (Harris) Marrs, age 84, of Payette, passed away in Nampa Sunday August 9, 2015. Celebration of Life will be held at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at 1:00 pm. 112 N 9th Street, Payette, Idaho. Maxine was Born on April 18, 1931 in Whitley Bottom, Payette County, Idaho. She lived in the Ontario area for over 60 years. She also lived in Hermiston, Salem, Redmond, Springfield and Central Point, Oregon.
Her great passion was her family. She was a wonderful cook and loved to feed each and every family and friend that came to her home. She raised and is survived by sons Robert Aaron Daniels, Frederick Thomas Daniels, and Theron Jay Marrs; daughters Susan Kay Daniels, Deborah Lee Marrs-Sayers; 15 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and five Great-Great Grandchildren.
A Graduate of TVCC in 1970, she began her career as Chief of Respiratory Therapy at Rogue Valley Memorial Hospital in Medford, Oregon. In 1974 she moved back to Ontario, Oregon where she started and developed the Department of Respiratory Therapy at Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario, Oregon. In 1978 she became Administrator of Presbyterian Nursing Home in Ontario, Oregon for many years prior to retirement.
Maxine served her community and made great contributions in many people’s lives as the Chairman of the Southern Chapter of Oregon Respiratory Therapy Association, Chairman of the Eastern Chapter of Oregon Nursing Home Association, committee member of the Oregon Lung Association and member of the Community Advisory Board for Holy Rosary Hospital. Maxine Co-authored “Home Care for Respiratory Therapy” and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Nyssa, Oregon.
A good day for Maxine was to go shopping and run errands and with her close friend Margaret Sigurdsen. She was also a sharp dresser and always looked her best. Maxine loved to travel and did so during her working career and in her retirement years with her family. When she could make it to camp with her children, she was thrilled.
Maxine is preceded in death by Thomas Acklin Harris, father, 1943, Juanita June Irwin Harris, mother, 1996. Husbands Frederick (Shorty) Aaron Daniels 2001, Chester William Marrs 1976, and Wesley Bagley 2002.
