Lee and Dwaine married August 28, 1938 in Pocatello, and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple, June 30, 1954. Leona was preceded in death by her husband on January 4, 2010.
During their marriage Leona and Dwaine lived in Pocatello; Salmon, Idaho; Payette, Idaho; Las Vegas, Nevada; Ontario, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; Renton, Washington; Post Falls, Idaho; Nampa, Idaho; and eventually moved back to Payette, Idaho, to be near their children and grandchildren.

Leona enjoyed life. She loved telling stories of her life and in sharing her amazing “Christmas Fudge” with relatives, neighbors, and even various merchants. She had a spirit of love, which everyone who met her soon realized. She never wanted one to say goodbye, she would say, “Don’t say goodbye, say alveterzane (auf wiedersehen).” Which means, “Until we meet again.”
