William "Willie" Arthur Sayre, 79, of Pickerington, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 22, 1940 in Granville, OH, a son to the late Arthur and Evelyn (Sheley) Sayre. William is survived by his daughters, Denise (Rick) Rogers of Mount Gilead and Lorri (Scott) Fowler of Pickerington; sisters, Joyce Parrill of Newark and Nancy Harris of Pataskala; grandchildren, William Patterson of Mount Gilead, Haileigh Fowler of Pickerington, Brandon Fowler of Pickerington and Kylie Sayre of Newark; stepsons, Jerry (Sharon) Jones of Newark, Tim Jones of Newark, Greg (Melissa) Boyd of Newark, Jeremy Sayre of Newark and Justin (Brittany) Curry of Mansfield and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Virginia (Holmes) Sayre; sister, Jane (Sayre) Fortney and brother, Robert L. Sayre. A private graveside service will take place at Patatskala Cemetery. Memorial service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd. SE, Newark, OH 43055 or Davis Heart & Lung Research Fund at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, 110 DHLRI, 473 W. 12th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210 in William’s memory.
