Mary Lou Hughes, 92, of Pickerington, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born June 8, 1930 in Blacklick, Ohio to the late Matilda and Robert Brandon. Mary was the first female bus driver in Licking County, and eventually retired driving for Licking Heights Schools. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary truly loved her family and loved God. She is survived by her beloved children, Roberta Lenhart, Rhonda (Dale) Pearce, and Richard (Susan) Hughes; grandchildren, Angie, Dana, Andie, Robby, Shellie, Laurie, Mollie, Todd, Jamie, Scott, Dusty, John, Mary, Marcus, Brandee, Jessica, Robert, Richie, Wayne, Gabriel, and Edythe; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Belinda (Gerald) Tuttle; and was nanny to Drew and Bailey Carr. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in passing by her husband of 50 years, Robert Hughes; children, Anna (Dane) Beekman and Allan Piotrowski; son-in-law, Jim Lenhart; siblings, Robert Brandon, Butchy Brandon, Mildred Brandon, and Larry Brandon; and grandparents, Ruth and Clarence Myers. Family and friends may call from 4-8pm Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home 289 S Main St Pataskala, Ohio 43062. A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, December 9, 2022 at the funeral home, officiated by the pastor of her home church Terry Muncy. Burial is to immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery in New, Albany, OH.
