Burgoon Leonard "Lefty", peacefully passed away, August 19, 2013 at his home. Born in Circleville, Oh to the late Oscar and Marvine (Ramey) Burgoon, May 25, 1940. His claim to fame being in the movie "Rio Bravo" with John Wayne.
He was a member of the National Guard and received three honorable discharges. He was a reserve police officer for Madison Township for 11 years. He is a member of Baltimore Masonic Lodge F&AM.
Survived by wife of 46 years, Janet (Crow) Burgoon. Survived by children, Jacqueline (Clyde) Nellis, Donna Bodkins, Duane (Crystal) Burgoon, Jeanne (Brian) Adolph and Jeannette (Rob Hayth) Burgoon; six grandchildren, Stefanie Bodkins, Kelly (Trever) Gottschalk, Catherine Adolph, Joseph (Mary) Adolph, Adam Adolph and Matthew Burgoon; great granddaughter, Kendallen Gottschalk. Also survived by sisters and brother, Shirley Jordan, Barbara (Kyle) Barboa, Charles Burgoon, Sharon (Charles) Woods, MaryAnn (Jim) Chapin. Preceded in death by Gertrude Burgoon, Beverly (Paul) Griffey, W. Kenny Burgoon, and Jackie Burgoon. Many Family, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
Visitation to be held at Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, Oh., on Thursday, August 22, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Masonic Service 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Dennis Witt officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Cemetery Lithopolis, Oh. with full Military Honors. There will be an online memorial at www.cksammons.com.
