Oliver "Obbie" Terrill Oliver "Obbie" Arthur Terrill, age 92, of Peachy Canyon/Paso Robles passed away peacefully at home June 25, 2015. A 7th generation California native he was born on Santa Rosa Creek east of Cambria March 1923, moving to Paso Robles later that year with his family. A graduate of Paso Robles High School, Class of 1941, he was a loyal Bearcat. He married Lee Gunther of Paso Robles in 1945 and they celebrated 41 years of marriage. When Lee's sister Margie died with five young sons, Obbie and Lee opened their home to them, raising them as their own. Known for his lively humor and wit Obbie lived life to its fullest as dairyman, farmer, rancher, hunter, fisherman and a man about town. His many memberships included Atascadero Trail Riders (President 1979/Charter), Paso Robles Moose Lodge (Charter), Elks Lodge (50 yrs/Charter), Native Sons of the Golden West-Cambria Parlor, Cattlemen's Association, Farm Bureau, and Diamond Walnut. He had the honor of being Pioneer Day Marshall in 2006. Obbie is survived by brother, Newell Terrill of San Luis Obispo; nieces, Nancy Terrill and Rosemary (Monty) Montgomery, and niece, Cathy Gunther; nephews: Karl Gunther, Don (Lynn Kerman) Christensen, Mike (Brande) Christensen, Jerry (Cindy) Christensen, John (Lisa) Christensen, Wes (Kim) Christensen, and Tom (Connie) Hartsell. He is fondly remembered by many more family members and friends, including lifelong friend Spencer Bain, and companion Shirley Elkins. Obbie was lovingly supported and surrounded by family as cancer ended his days.
