On August 29, 2021, Atascadero lost a remarkable resident of 30 years, Kathy Lee Seay. Kathy came into this world on March 9, 1952 in Long Beach, California. Although she grew up a typical southern California girl, it was the country life that filled her heart with peace, beauty, and contentment.
She was a loving and devoted daughter to Vernon and Vona Preston and a giving, compassionate sister to Sherry. Family meant the world to Kathy and it gave her life purpose and meaning. She gave her children, Jason and Carrie, unconditional love and support. Kathy was the best Nana ever to her grandchildren, Callie, Kaylah, and Sierra, and she delighted in spoiling them rotten every chance she got. Kathy found her soulmate when she met Frank Kock and their love affair lasted almost 30 years.
Kathy had many passions in her life; but without a doubt, family was always the center of her universe. Holidays were always special, especially when Kathy would serve her famous prime rib! She loved going on road trips with her grandchildren and gambling in the high limit rooms in casinos.
She will always be remembered for her selflessness, feisty nature, and her ability to bring joy and laughter everywhere she went.
Kathy was everyone’s best friend and we were so blessed and fortunate to have her for 69 years, although it wasn’t nearly long enough.
We will never forget you, and you will live in our hearts forever.
