John was born in Glens Falls, NY on October 12, 1956. He graduated from Glens Falls High school and continues o to have the highest security clearance in the United States Air Force at Griffith’s Air force Base in Rome, NY, where he was honorably discharged after four years of service.
John worked as a manager of both an Auto Parts Store and a Grocery Store for more than 30 years. He enjoyed watching sports, movies; he loved to hiking, reading Civil War novels, talking with his children and granddaughter. He loved all animals.
John is survived by his two children, Jennifer Bean (Jeffrey) and Mathew Stevens (Drew Lamy), his granddaughter Gracie Bean, his three sisters; Tamara Stevens, Nancy Dittrich and Jody Coffey, his brother Matthew Stevens, his nieces and nephews and the rest of his family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents Robert C. and Polly M. Stevens, as well as his brothers; Robert P. and Mark C. Stevens.
The family of John Stevens wishes to thank the United States Veterans Office and employees, the Paso Robles Branch of Hospice, Twin Cities Hospital, Vineyard Hills Skilled Nursing Facility and Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home. We would also like to thank all of our friends and family members who sent prayers, love and kindness during John’s final moments. They were all felt and greatly appreciated.
There are no calling hours. There will be a private service held for his family and close friends in John’s hometown of Glens Fall, New York. Per John’s wishes, another honoring of his life will be held in California later this fall.
