“Frances P. White passed away in Atascadero, California on February 24, 2018 and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born August 27, 1923 in Pleasant Valley Township, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin to Peter and Laura (Insteness) Pederson. Frances went to school nearby and grew up on her family's farm. During World War II, she rode the train to San Diego and worked as a riveter on Boeing airplanes. There she met the love of her life, Frank J. White. They married in April 1944 and their marriage lasted until Frank's death in 1988. After Frank's service in the Army, they made their way to Hanford, California where they raised three children on a family farm that they shared with Frank's brother William and Frances's sister Borghild, at whose wedding Frank and Frances had met. Later in life, Frances began work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse with a career that she enjoyed for more than a decade. After living on the family farm for 2 years after Frank's death, Frances moved to Paso Robles in 1990. Frances loved meeting new people and being involved in activities that helped others. Most recently, that was quilting for Lutheran World Relief and working for the Braille Center at her home church. She also volunteered teaching English and opened her home to visitors from all over the world. Family was very important to Frances and she especially enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who in turn was loved by all who knew her. Frances is survived by one brother, Richard Pederson (Darlene) of Eleva, Wisconsin, and a second sister-in-law, Gen Pederson (Lawrence), also of Eleva, Wisconsin; three children Dennis White (Dianne) of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Paul White (Jane Grant) of Eugene, Oregon and Janice Oppegard (Keith) of Paso Robles, California; plus seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents Laura and Peter, sisters Anne and Borghild, and brothers Obert, Lawrence, and Walter.”
