After he returned from the Army he enrolled in Clifton Junior College where he graduated in 1950. While in college he met Marynell Rohne and they were married on November 24, 1950.
Wendell worked for General Tires, Sears, Houston National Bank, First National Bank which became First Pasadena State Bank where he worked for 25 years prior to retiring.
In 1974 he and John Phelps bought a funeral home which became Pasadena Funeral Chapel. He retired from the funeral home in 1996. He retired just in time to be able to travel to all the events his grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Marynell and his children Patricia Dietz and husband Pete, Pamela Wooley, Janet Wallace and Michael Wallace and wife Bridget.
His grandchildren Kristy McCoy and husband Patrick, Amy Carro and husband Bobby, Ryan Dietz and wife Becca, Kyle Eaves, Christopher Wallace and wife Peyton, Chelsea Wallace and Hunter Martin, Kody Eaves and Ally Esquivel-Eivet, Kole Eaves and Madison Wallace.
His great grandchildren Kayden and Emma Carro, Sean and Kylie McCoy, Ethan and Owen Dietz and Kean Kody Eaves.

Wendell died at home surrounded by his loving family on January 16, 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at The Chapel of First Baptist of Pasadena. Burial to Follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
