Wanda Joy Williams, 89, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully, at her home on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 14, 1935, in La Porte, Texas, to the late Rosa and Frank Adams. Wanda was the youngest and only girl of seven children.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Wanda played basketball and softball and was an active bowling league member for almost 50 years. She also loved fishing, hunting, and cooking for her family. Wanda especially cherished the times when the family gathered at the ranch and the lake house.
Wanda retired from Rohm & Haas (Dow) where she made lifelong friends and was a member of their retired employees’ group, “Haas Beens”.Known for her kind, witty, and caring nature, Wanda was well-liked by all who knew her. She was a constant support and joy to her family and friends.
In her later years, Wanda was deeply committed to her church, First Baptist Church - Pasadena, faithfully watching services on her iPad every Sunday after she could no longer attend in person.
Above all, Wanda cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She and her husband, James, never missed a dance recital or baseball game; they were so proud of their grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband - James Williams, and six brothers: Earl, LJ, Durwood, James, Edward, and Jerry Adams.
She is survived by her children, Mark Williams and his wife Karen and Lisa Williams Mitchell; grandchildren Kellye Levenson and her husband Grant, Austin Mitchell, and Alexa “Lexi” Mitchell; great-grandson Logan Levenson; her Sister-In-Law, Nancy Adams and numerous extended family and friends.
Wanda’s loving presence and kind spirit will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on January 11, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas, 77505, United States.
The funeral service will follow on the same day from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the same location.
A graveside service will take place on January 11, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm at Grand View Funeral Home.
