Virginia Belle Simmons, age 87 passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021. Virginia was born November 4, 1933. She was born in Merryville, Louisiana and then moved to Call, Texas as a young child and lived in Jasper, Texas as a young adult. After marrying Henry, she moved to Houston, Texas. In her final years she was a resident of Pasadena, Texas where she lived until the time of her death. Virginia was an avid reader and the best cook. Most of the books that she owned were cookbooks. She was a long time member of Second Baptist Church of Pasadena and in her final years was a long time member at Memorial Baptist Church of Pasadena.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Simmons; parents, Virgil P. Hilderbrand and Janie Kimmey; step-mother, Mollie B. Y'Barbo; brother, Virgil Ellis "Jake" Hilderbrand; sister, Janet Faye Lee and brother, Lucien Paul Hilderbrand. She is survived by her son, David B. Simmons; sister-law-, Linda Primrose and various nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Virginia will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pasadena Funeral Home, 2203 Pasadena Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas 77502. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Magnolia Springs Cemetery, FM 1005, Magnolia Springs, Texas 75956.
Serving as pallbearers are Lequin Hilderbrand, Keith Hilderbrand, Edgar Neely, Chester Allen, Lyndon Hallmark and Lucien P. Hilderbrand, Jr.
