Born May 10, 1928, in Camden, Arkansas to Minnie (Dison) and William Jackson.
On May 20, 1952 he married the love of his life, Alma (Favors) Jackson in Smackover, Arkansas.
They were married for 65 wonderful years.
During their early years of marriage he spent his time serving in the Army.
He worked for Lifecare until his retirement in 1996.
He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He enjoyed telling a good joke and always had one to share.
He loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in the yard. After retirement he enjoyed spending much of his time at his property in San Augustine, Texas.
He ate at his favorite restaurant, McDonald’s often.
He loved dancing and in his latter years he enjoyed attending the dances at the Madison Jobe Senior Center.
He enjoyed spending time with his six siblings and looked forward to their annual Jackson family reunion every year.
He was a member of South Avenue Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jackson, his parents, Minnie and William Jackson, his six siblings, Ola “Punkin” Hall, Zady Lang, Edith Nelms, Janie “Penny” Cline, Andrew Jackson and William “Snip” Jackson.
He is survived by his three children, Gary Jackson and wife Teresa, Brenda Steyer and husband Phillip, Pam Nowell and husband B.J., grandchildren, Amber Madden and husband Michael, Brandan Wallace, Aubre Limbaugh and husband Blake, and Ashley Brackeen and husband Blake, great grandchildren, Landon Wallace, Mckinley Madden, Olivia Steyer, Kherington Wallace, Mason Madden, Wyatt Limbaugh, Ashlyn Brackeen, Brooklyn Brackeen, and Nathan Limbaugh.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 2pm at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
