Rodney moved to Pasadena in 1969 with his mother. He was a graduate of Sam Rayburn High School, commuting the last 2 years to Pasadena High School for auto mechanics. He received several certificates for the same from San Jacinto College. He had a 27-year career with Austin Industrial starting out as a boilermaker, working in various plants along Pasadena’s refinery row, retiring in 2012 as a Supervisor. He was a dedicated worker and made many friends along the way. He always had a smile on his face.
In his free time, Rodney enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating with his family, friends, and working on any type of motor. Everyone he knew would call him and ask his advice on how to fix their automobile engines or lawn mowers, golf carts, etc. If it had a motor, he could trouble shoot it and fix it. Since his retirement he most enjoyed traveling to the casinos with his wife, and usually returning as a big winner.
Left to cherish Rodney’s memory is his devoted wife Cindy, his children Michael St. Lawrence and Crystal, and, Thomas Price and Elizabeth. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind sister Jeanette and husband Ralph, nephews Alan Morgan and Dana, Richard Caldwell and LuRae, nieces Brenda McClane and Judy Yarnel, many great nieces and great nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lessie Morgan and his brother Richard Caldwell.
The family would like to thank the staff at the following facilities for their compassionate care they gave Rodney: East Houston Family Group, Living Hope Home Healthcare, and Faithbridge Caregivers.
A memorial Celebration of Rodney's life will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 2:00pm at Pasadena Funeral Chapel located at 2203 Pasadena Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas 77502.
