Robert Eugene (Bob) Wall, 87, was born on October 18, 1930 in Garvin County, Stratford, Oklahoma in the family home and passed away peacefully on May 12, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was sixth of 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls to James Hilburn Wall and Beulah Gladys (Lewelling) Wall. Bob spent two years in the National Guard 45th Battalion 171 F. A. where he served on the Freedom Train, touring America from 1947-49 displaying historic memorabilia. Bob retired after 42 years from Phillips Petroleum, employed the first two years at the Borger Refinery and the rest in the Lab in Pasadena. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed playing tournament softball in the Senior League as well as his weekly 42 Domino games. Among his many volunteer activities, he served as President of the Deer Park, Texas AARP. A Charter Member of South Avenue Baptist Church, he is predeceased by his devoted wife of 38 years, Theresa Marie Wall. Bob is survived by his children, LaDonna Umberger, Melba Leitch, Diane Campbell, Linda Anderson and Johnny Maxey; grandchildren, Liz Holland, Charles Tooley, Shane Anderson, Starr Anderson, Sarah Anderson, Chris Campbell and Seth Campbell; great-grandchildren, Ivy, Harley, Bruce, Thorin, Cody, Justus, Emilee, Hunter, Lily, Layla, Christopher and Gage.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Funeral services will follow on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 12:30pm in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home with Associate Pastor Jim Overton officiating. Internment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to South Avenue Baptist Church, 604 Preston Road, Pasadena, Texas 77503.
