Ray Glen Cole of LaPorte, Texas passed away November 16, 2023. He was born in Dayton, Texas to Ray and Velma Cole on November 28, 1949. He was married to Sandra Cole for 43 years. Glen worked as an operator for various chemical companies with his longest employment being for Specialty Minerals Incorporated. During his time with that company, he had the opportunity to travel to Brazil, France, Poland, South Africa, and other interesting destinations where he set up facility computer operating systems. He was an avid reader and had a passion for learning and imparting his knowledge onto his daughters and grandchildren. His passion for learning lead him to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from Saint Leo University, a little later in life at age 57. He also loved the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed playing pool and especially building his own home computers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Joshua Cole Melvin, and his uncle Leroy Humphry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his daughters, Gabrielle Cole and husband Sten Svendsen, Courtney Cole, and Paige Cole; his two grandchildren, Ashtyn and Rohan; his brother, Richard Cole; and his sisters, Sherry Melvin and Lisa Denman and their children.
Services at Grand View Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas, Saturday, December 2nd. Visitation with family and friends at 12:00pm, memorial service at 2:00pm.
Thank you to everyone who showed a special kindness to Glen. He was a loving and gentle soul and will be missed by many.
