Micki Richard passed away on October 2, 2022, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 63. Micki Lane Schoeffler was born on January 12, 1959, in Houston, Texas, to Glenna Mae (Hackney) and Carl William Schoeffler. Micki married Mark Everette Richard on December 27, 1980.
She graduated from Pasadena High School, in Pasadena, Texas, in 1977, and received a BSED from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas, in 1981. Micki loved her years at Texas Tech and became a Red Raider for life. In 1984, she received her Master of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Micki taught math for 40 years, 30 years in public education and 10 years at First Baptist Christian Academy. She was a member of South Main Baptist Church, Pasadena, where she taught youth Sunday School and was involved with Youth Choir, mission trips, youth camp, and youth activities. Micki also attended the Ladies Bible Studies and events and was part of the Adult Choir and Bell Choir.
Micki was pre-deceased by her parents, Carl Schoeffler and Glenna Schoeffler; sister, Vicki Schoeffler Froehlich; and brother, Terry Schoeffler.
Micki will continue to live on in the cherished memories of her husband of 41 3/4 years, Mark Richard of La Porte, Texas; children, Sarah Richard of LaPorte, Texas; Kevin Richard and wife Amy of Deer Park, Texas; grandsons Charles Richard and James Richard; sisters Debbie Bertrand (Larry), of Houston, Texas; Robin Lewis (Kirk), of Pasadena, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Micki was blessed with her own family. Then when she married Mark, she was welcomed into the Richard family by his parents, Jack and Ida, and his three wonderful sisters Erica (Rix), Diana (Terry), and Toni.
A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 2:00-3:00 p.m., at South Main Baptist Church, 4300 East Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, Texas, 77505. The memorial service will follow at 3:14 p.m. (for pi…one final math joke) at South Main Baptist Church.
