Mary Pauline Stetson

Mary P. Stetson was born on June 6, 1930, to Francis and Lavern Farrell in Fargo, N.D. She was raised in Casselton N.D. and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. Mary joined the United States Air Force in June 1955 and served our nation until June 1957. She was stationed at Randolph AFB, TX. Where she met and married her first husband Douglas V. Nelson on May 31, 1956, who was also a member of the USAF. They traveled together and were stationed at Wiesbaden AB, Germany (twice), Massachusetts, and Nebraska until their separation in 1969 and ultimate divorce in 1972. After their separation, Mary settled back in Texas near Randolph AFB where she met and married Robert H. Stetson on June 20, 1975. She worked for the U.S. Civil Service at Randolph AFB in the finance office for 20 years until her retirement in August of 1988.

Mary enjoyed square dancing, camping and spending time with family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all she left behind.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Robert Stetson, parents Frank and Verna Farrell, brother Eugene Farrell, sister and brother-in-law Frances and George Nesemeier, son-in-law Michael Chamberlain, and great-granddaughter Michaela Holden.

Mary is survived by her daughter Bernadette Chamberlain, sons Eldon, Thomas, and Paul and wife Lori Nelson, step-children Robert Stetson and Cindy Caudill, sister-in-law Annette Farrell, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildern, and nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held 12:00pm, March 26, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home, FM 3009, Schertz, Texas 78154.
