Mae Deane Ferguson went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2022. Mae was born on June 27th, 1936, in Oplin, TX. She was a graduate of Galena Park High School and then married Jack Ferguson on June 8th, 1955. Mae was a hardworking, dedicated medical coder at Pasadena Anesthesiology Group for over 35 years until her retirement. She served the Lord as a Nursery Director, bible study host, and was faithful to funding missions. She will be remembered for her love of family, generosity, selflessness and of course, her famous grilled cheeses. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren and others as “Mamie”.
Mamie was known to host family gatherings, give gifts, play cross word puzzles, read mystery novels and undoubtedly be there for anybody who needed her. Mamie had a gentle way about her that would put people at ease. You would always feel a sense of bliss within the room whenever she was there. She would often re-visit her memories of loved ones who had passed and shared them with her family. Not only was Mamie all the things listed above, but she was also a great storyteller. You could sit there with her for hours and listen to her stories from her childhood, and she wouldn’t miss a beat. It’s hard to wrap up 86 years of life in one paragraph to describe somebody who had the heart of an angel, intentions as pure as gold and a smile that was contagious, but this short snippet hopefully gave you an insight as to who Mae Deane Ferguson was. We know she is rejoicing in His name with her family again and that puts us at ease. Tears fill our eyes because she is gone, but we smile from cheek to cheek because we know we will see her again one day. We love you, Mamie.
Mae is survived by her three sons, Mike Ferguson and wife Cynthia of Abilene, TX, Jack Ferguson and wife Debbie of Pueblo, CO, and Larry Ferguson and wife Kelly of Buna, TX; fifteen grandchildren, Christina Standley, Denise Ferguson, Shawn Ferguson, Shanonn Toohey, Melanie Ferguson, Stephen Ferguson, Tara Gallner, Emalie Nicolet, Zebulon Ferguson, McKayla Ferguson, Brandolyn Ferguson, Noah Ferguson, Joe Ferguson, Flint Ferguson, and Jeremiah Ferguson; and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elza Ray and Vernita Broome, her husband, Malcolm Jack Ferguson; and sisters, Joyce Melder and Mary Lou Powledge.
