Hardford H. Whittaker, 80, devoted husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather of Trinity, Texas passed away on June 9, 2021. Hardford was known by many names. Frenchy, Coonie, Heavy, Honey, Sweetheart, Daddy, Pa, and Papaw. He was born to Lily and Harry Whittaker on September 12, 1940 in Eunice, Louisiana. He married the love of his life Mary Lou Tollett from Pasadena, Texas on August 12, 1961, and would have been married 60 years later this summer. They made their home together in Pasadena for 40 years, before retiring and moving to Trinity, Texas in 2002. Hardford was a hard-working man of many skills and made his living as a pipefitter and welder by trade. He was as a member of the local 211 for over 50 years. His many hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening and cooking; he was exceptional at them all. He was a lover of life and was loved by many. His great story telling ability captured everyone’s attention. Hardford always had a smile that would light up a room and he left this earth with a smile on his face. Hardford touched many people’s lives and left a great impact on anyone who ever had the privilege of meeting him. He will be truly missed by many.
Hardford is survived by his wife Mary L. Whittatker of Trinity, Texas; daughters Pam Cauthen and son-in-law Carl Cauthen of League City, Texas, daughter Sherry DiCerbo and son-in-law Joseph DiCerbo of Pasadena, Texas; grandchildren Brandon Thaden of La Porte, Texas, Taylor Teel and wife Kelley of La Porte, Texas, Tyler Teel and wife Danielle of Pasadena, Texas, Chance Cauthen of Alvin, Texas, Heath Cauthen of Alvin, Texas, Hayden Cauthen of Alvin, Texas, Christopher DiCerbo of Glassboro, New Jersey; great grandchildren Charlie, Claire and Nolan Teel, Jordan and Jackson Teel, Baylen, Thaden, Ellie and Palmer Cauthen, Tanner and Tegan Cauthen; brother Harry Whittaker of Grapeland, Texas; Bonnie Whittaker of Corrigan, Texas; and many other nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws who he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by parents Lilly and Harry Whittaker; and sisters Mary Bihm and Mauralis Bihm.
