George Edison Shaw, 78, passed on with family encompassed on October 20, 2019. George was a sensible, Christian man. He perfectly balanced his life around faith, family and friends. George and his wife Glenda raised their children; Ricky, Robin and Shelly mostly in Pasadena, Texas. George worked at the San Diego Tribune, Beaumont Enterprise and Journal in his earlier years, and retired after thirty-five years of service to the Houston Chronicle. In his downtime, George enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping and boating. George and Glenda, his wife of 52 years enjoyed traveling, camping and enjoying their life together with family and friends. The divine grace George had as his wife's caregiver was something from a different time, another world. Glenda was George's test as a godly man. His love and devotion to his wife is the inspiration he leaves behind to his daughters and granddaughters. His aspiration of righteousness, grace and humility is the motivation he leaves to his grandsons. His lighthearted humor and passion, he leaves to us all. George is preceded in death by his mother Mildred Shaw, wife Glenda, and son Ricky. George is survived by his daughters Robin Eldridge and Shelly Shaw, and siblings; Marie Burchfield, Gloria Collett, Guy Shaw and Gary Shaw. Paw-Paw Shaw’s grandchildren are; Elizabeth and Mark Davis, Ashli and Yusuf Scott, Ami and Renaldo Atkins, Ryan Eldridge and Crystal Acuna. George’s great-grandsons are; Jayden Lord and Nathaniel Atkins. George’s great-granddaughters are; Mackenzie and Kennedy Davis, Aubrianna Atkins and Ryleigh Eldridge as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a very humble and an all-around good person and will be greatly missed. Services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Pasadena Funeral Home located at 2203 Pasadena Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas.
