My mother and Donnie Gene's mother were very close friends from 1960 on and our families spent a lot of time together.  In fact, my own brother Donnie was good a friend of Donnie Gene although after they both got married they drifted apart.   I had not seen Donnie Gene since I was a teenager (about 50 years) and happened to think about the Davis' and thought I would look him up.

My condolences to the family.  I don't know what kind of man he became, but I remember him as a sweet guy that I loved like a brother.

I can remember being a kid going to see him, it was Kool , I think the first time  sheverport Louisiana, it was awesome , he was a great man, n I love Roxie she is a great woman I have looked for ever for them . N never could find them if any way I could get a. Hold of them I would like to let them both know I love them n for Roxie my prayers n thought are with u 

Doc was always a happy sunny person. I remember all the times that he would see me and come chat and we would enjoy smiles and laughter and jokes together. Doc you have always been one of my most favorite people and you are very greatly missed. I'm glad that I was able to give you at least one last hug before you were called home. Doc we will miss you but you will always be in our hearts, and your lovable personality will live on in our memories. 

Your Walmart family is truly saddened at your passing . You left a lasting impression on all who woked with you.  Doc was always ready and willing to help anyone he saw in need.  He was so excited to purchase the Texas Strong pins which  helped the MD Anderson cancer center . His cheerful greeting and playful teasing will be remembered by all. Thanks to his family for sharing him with us these past years. May I say from all of us at Walmart store 5116 , you are in our prayers. 

I still cant believe your gone doc.  I will always cherish our memories. Always had a huge smile.  Bye young lady, you would say.  You always made the people around you so happy.  R. I. P DOC your were truly a blessing to me my deepest condolences to the Davis family

He was a sweet old man! No matter the time of day he would always say “Good Morning, how are we doing today?” I am going to miss hearing those good mornings every day at work no matter what time it was and him being silly and always seeing  that sweet face . You will truly be missed Doc! Rest easy buddy ! 

Donnie I can’t believe your in gods arms now . You were truly a pleasure to know and i’m proud to have been able to know you work with you and call you my friend !  you will be greatly missed .Gone but Absolutely never forgotten . Rest in piece my dear sweet friend.

He was always so full of love, light, and humor, no matter how hard the day got. He always told me good morning, genuinely, whether it was 10am or 10pm, and always did it with a smile and a laugh. I'm going to miss him terribly, he was one of the few good men left in this world, and it's a lesser place without his light.

Always said "Good Morning Sunshune no matter the time of day. He was always there to put a smile on my face when work was getting rough . He had a huge heart and always let it show. Love and miss you Doc.
