Donald Lee Parnell

Donald Lee Parnell, 89, went to be with his Lord on January 21, 2022. Don was born November 8, 1932, in Lott, Texas, to Robert William Parnell and Willie B (Rountree) Parnell. He married Norma Jean Robertson on February 2, 1952, in Houston Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Edgar Parnell and his loving wife, Norma of 55 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Donna Garcia and husband Joel; Kevin Parnell and wife, Barbara; Amy May and husband, Simon; and Jill Gifford; grandchildren, T Madden Alford and wife, Katarina; Seth Alford and wife, Natasha; Trenton Lilly; Austin Lilly; Grant Lilly and wife, Megan; Sarah Hill and husband, Steven; Matthew Parnell; Iris May; Sam May; Samantha Wilson and husband, Andrew; Nathanael Gifford; and great grandchildren, Gunnar Alford, Ella Alford, Olivia Alford, Evelyn Alford, Taylor Alford, Alexis Lilly, Allison Lilly, Kelsey Hill, Abigail Hill, Madeline Hill, Simon Hill, Isabelle Hill and special friend, Gail Kline. Others that hold him in their hearts are his sister, Betty (Parnell) Wright and husband, Robin and his niece Judy Parnell and nephew Robert Parnell. He was thought of as the favorite Uncle by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was a member of University Baptist Church and enjoyed his time with the special ministry, Primetimers. He received his Craft Degrees at Pasadena Masonic Lodge No. 1155. He was a member of the Plumbers Local Union No. 68. As a Master Plumber he began Parnell Plumbing Company. His love of bowling brought him many friends, adventures and accolades from the American Bowling Congress. He was a member of the Pasadena Bowling Hall of Fame.

In his lifetime he enjoyed traveling in the US and abroad. He mentored and encouraged many lives. He loved his family and was always a loyal friend.

The Memorial Service will be held at 2PM, February 2, at the Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Texas.
