Chuck was born on July 11, 1943 in Berwyn, IL to John C. Kocian and Estelle Kocian (Silkunas). He attended Morton East High School in Cicero, IL, Morton Junior College in Cicero, IL, and Western Michigan University. He achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Food Distribution. After earning his degree, he served in the US Army Intelligence from 1967 – 1970 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Following his service to his country, he joined Jewel Food Stores where he worked until his retirement in 1987.
In his retirement years he enjoyed spending time with friends, family and most importantly his four legged companion, Sammie - The Ultimate Predator. Chuck spent 39 years as a resident of Plainfield, IL before moving to Texas in March of 2017. He will be remembered as a loving son to his parents, a good Dad – always there to lend a hand, funny, smart, always ready with quick wit and a wisecrack.
He is survived by his children Michele (Carl) Williams, Mark Kocian, Sammie The Cat. His grandchildren Dustin (Jessica Pederson) Williams, Kara Genghini, and Seth (Shelbie Campbell) Williams. His great grandchildren, Alli Anders and Dane Genghini.
