Bonnie Marie Jackson was born May 8, 1920 in Eastland County, Texas to Lillie Alma and Hubert Rodgers. She was the youngest of 9 siblings. She met her future husband in San Angelo, Texas while she was in beauty school and they were married on December 7, 1943. In 1951 they bought their first home in Houston, Texas where they lived for the next 56 years.
Bonnie spent her 40 plus career years as a hair stylist, and only stopped cutting her own hair a few months before she died. Bonnie and Russell were known for their kindness and generosity. They were also well known for their wonderful cooking and gracious entertaining.
In 2008, after 66 years of marriage, Russell moved on to Heaven and Bonnie moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to be closer to one of her nieces. At her new home in Somerby, Bonnie quickly made many new, dear and special friends.
Even more important to Bonnie was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She became a Christian in her early teens and was a faithful prayer warrior up until the last days of her life. She will be dearly missed by old and new friends and can never be replaced in the hearts of her family.
