Bill was born in Greenfield, Ohio and raised in Middletown, Ohio, the only child of Dan and Zona Pelfrey who preceded him death. A desire to join the oil industry brought him and the love of his life, Sandra Pelfrey, to Texas in 1968. He recently celebrated 52 years of marriage to Sandra which brought three boys, grandchildren, many trips to work overseas and wonderful memories made in the North Shore Area. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Zona Pelfrey, and his granddaughter, Casey Pelfrey. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, as well as, three sons, Mike Pelfrey and wife Gena, Billy D. Pelfrey and wife Stacey, and Scott Pelfrey and wife Stephanie. He was also blessed with grandchildren, Jessica Richmond and husband John, Shawna Brown and husband Brady, Shannon Pelfrey, Joshua Pelfrey and Kennedy Pelfrey, his great grandchildren, Hunter Shaffer, Ryleigh Mueller, Case Mueller, Parker Richmond, Will Richmond, and Walker Richmond, and numerous other family members in Ohio and Michigan. Bill loved to fish and enjoyed watching every sport imaginable, always cheering on his Houston teams. He spent years taking his family on memorable fishing trips to Canada and enjoyed time fishing in Rockport, Texas.
The family will invite friends and family to a celebration of Bill’s life at Uvalde Baptist Church on October 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow in the church gymnasium. Capacity will be limited, and masks will be required.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast Hospital for their care and compassion in Bill’s final moments with us on earth.
