He was born August 20, 1954, a son of the late Harold Fleak and Ruby Meadows Fleak.
Vince worked as an Optician until he retired. He was always there for someone who needed a third hand. He always accepted a request for help with a smile and did his best to make it a success and was always going above what was asked of him. He was that kind of a Dad - Papa - brother – friend. He loved the WVU Mountaineers with a passion that never wavered although sometimes it was difficult. He was the caretaker for his Dad during his final years.
He was an avid collector of Indian artifacts. He won first place at an Indian artifact convention in Columbus for a piece he had found. He also was proud that he was caretaker of Dad’s Allis Chalmers tractor and then getting his own and restoring it.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Halda Fleak and Jerry and Mervilla Meadows; brothers, Phillip and James Fleak.
Vince was devoted to daughter Amy (Adam) Dowler and son Ryan Fleak. He cherished his granddaughters Olivia and Abigail Dowler and Athena Root
Vince is also survived by his brother Wayne Fleak - 3 sisters Janet (Mike) Bonnett - Joyce (Ken) McIntire - Judy (Gary) Joy several nieces and nephews; Aunt Mary - one special neighbor and friend Nick McPherson along with many friends he made over the years.
Per his wishes, there will be no services at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
