Linda Sue Matheny

She was born October 4, 1947 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Forrest Virden and Annabelle Warner Virden.

Linda retired from GE Plastics (Borg Warner) after many years of service. She was a member of the American Legion Post 15. She loved collecting dolls and had a beautiful assortment of dolls she acquired over the years. She loved her dogs, Missy and Lady and cherished them as faithful companions. Most of all, Linda treasured the memories created with her children. Her presence will be missed more than words can say.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son, Scott (Jamie) Matheny; daughter, Deanna (Greg) Brown; brothers, Forrest “Sonny” Virden, Gary Virden; sister-in-law, JoAnne Virden; grandchildren, Daniel Buck, Jewelee Brown, Ashlee Brown, Alex Gainer, and Samantha Gainer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Virden; two sister-in-laws, Agnes and Linda.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday April 22, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Monday April 21,2025 at the funeral home.
