Grant was born on July 7, 1942 in Macfarland, WV, to the late Ethel McCray and Vernon Haught.
Grant graduated from Doddridge High School in 1960. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for several years and retired from G.E. Plastics.
He was a wonderful son, father, papaw, and dad and in the last few years became “Grant the Great” to 3 great grandchildren. He enjoyed his garden, his family, fishing and his monthly breakfast with Coach Cline Stansberry and his buddies from high school sports. He lettered in football, baseball and basketball.
He is survived by his son, Kevin (Rene) Haught of Hedgesville, WV, daughter, Julia (Kevin) Linville of Washington, WV, sisters, Naomi Dillon, of Parkersburg, WV, Christine Pierce, of Ohio and Arlene (Bob) Bland, of Blandville, WV, Grandchildren, Brenna Haught, Kailan Haught, Jordyne (Clinton) Nohe, Brodey (Paige) Linville, Great-Grandchildren, Gavin Nohe, Ryker Nohe and Oaklyn Linville, and his best friend (brother by heart) Lee Corder.
Grant was proceeded in death by his wife, Luella, his brother, Gerald and his parents.
A private family graveside will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
