To Taryn and AJ,

When your Dad had something, the entire world shared in his riches.  He was so proud of each of you.  I miss him, but he is safe, warm, and content.
Live your lives to the fullest.  Be good citizens and love as he did.
SHOULD YOU EVER, find yourselves at odds with each other?  DO NOT GIVE UP ON THE OTHER ONE.  I know it won’t be under the same circumstances, but it could be as simple as a difference of opinion, marriage choice, argument etc.
Once you give up, I mean really give up, there's no going back. I love you as if you were my own.  Stick together, through the tough times, no matter how rough.  Because in the end you only have EACH OTHER.

Dad, I knew this day would come sooner rather than later and I honestly never really knew how I would feel… but the day is here now and honestly, I just feel lost. 

Growing up, you were my whole world… and I was “your everything”. I’ve been on dirt tires since I was 2 and paddles since I was 3… Sprint car nights in the pits and NASCAR mornings.  Go cart track in the back yard, sliding through my turns with you holding the checkered flag …At 8 yrs old you and I were racing down sand hwy so fast my vision was blurry... but I still won 😉. And by 10 yrs old I was blowing the transmission in the C10 and washing every car I could just to pay for it…We lived FAST and ran HOT. 🤘🏻

Dad, I was your biggest fan. Everything that makes me, me… you laid the foundation for.  And for that I will be forever be grateful. I know how lost you became and I know how sick you were… and I hope and pray that you are free of that now.  But no matter the circumstances… you will forever be a huge part of me. 

I promise to always let up a little before the curve, and gas it through every turn. I promise to always keep my eyes up and thumbs up.. and I will keep our memories apart of me for always… I hope you’re tearing it up and f’n gasing it out, Dad. 🏁🏁🏁

John,
It is with a heavy heart to write this.  I will never forget our friendship, good and bad. I have missed you greatly over the years. I hold on to one of our last conversations a year ago. We shared the remember when stories, the laughter and of coarse our tears.  I wished for just one more good day, one more good conversation. 

Back in the day you had a special gift, you could make anyone love you. I’ve been broken down in the middle of the desert with you, and watched in awe as you talked a complete stranger out of his credit cards within 15 minutes of meeting him, yes the famous moose incident. 

Glamis, being towed behind you on a three wheeler as I skied behind you with a cowboy coffee pot full of kamikaze’s, giving away shots. I’m not sure if that was the night you caught on fire. Or was it the night you passed out on the couch at Glamis, I thought it would be funny to shove a pack of hot dogs down your pants, left your zipper open, and couldn’t get off my back because I was laughing so hard when Dan Montgomey’s dog was so hungry that it’s head completely disappeared into your pants through  said zipper. Me, Art, and Dan Montgomery were all there. The Coup de gras was that we took pictures of the affair you had with Dan’s dog on your own camera.  

A couple of weeks had passed.  I had forgotten the incident and I get a phone call, and I don’t think that I’ve heard you madder.  You were so mad at me and I laughed until I cried.  I can only hope that at some point you found some humor in the whole affair.

I am in tears, partly in sadness and part giggling.  Way too many stories to list my friend.
I will forever miss (what I called going to  Sea world) sitting at a bar with you,  and you giving me your wet Bacardi walrus kisses on the cheek.
I hope there are too many race tracks where you are to visit.  Can’t watch a race without thinking of you.
I miss you now and forever.
With nothing but loving memories.

I’m so sorry for your loss. You had a good and caring dad until he lost his way. I’m with you in any way I can be.

Last year we went to memorial coliseum in Los Angeles to watch the short track NASCAR race I'll never forget John's attitude typical Vern .🙏❤️🏁
