Ava Lynn Sharp Alcaida was born in Arizona and lived most of her life in Parker. Ava was a proud Mohave and member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) and a former Miss CRIT. Ava loved her community and served as a member of Poston Rotary, La Paz County Farm Bureau, AZ Cowpunchers Reunion Association, AZ Cotton Growers Association, The Cotton Board, VFW Auxiliary, and River Tribes United Dance group volunteers. She was recognized for her contributions and awarded University of AZ Extensionist of the Year (2019).
Ava lived a full life and loved spending time with her grandkids, traveling, sharing her Mohave culture and serving her community. She loved her family most of all.
Ava was the beloved wife of the late Ray Alcaida, granddaughter to the late Arthur Sharp and the late Lylah Patch; late Merle Weidman and the late Ora Settle, daughter to the late Gabriel Sharp and late Gail Weidman; sister to the late Jolene Cynthia, Matthew Duckwall, Jason Duckwall (Mindi), Amanda Kay (John), Gabriel Sheridan, Christopher Paul (Chrissy), Jonathan Black, mother to Rae Ann Alcaida, William C. Alcaida(Rochelle), Jerome Welsh, Ollie Prosser (Barney), Jcee Alcaida(Andrew), Skyler Alcaida (Estevan), grandmother to Eloisa Allen, Sarah Sonnenberg, Amber Prosser, William J. Alcaida, Leanne White, Colton McGuire, Jonathan Alcaida, Jenaye Welsh, Taylor Alcaida, Ahtz Prosser, Atticus Prosser, Kenley Welsh, and Allister Prosser, great grandmother to Lily Alcaida.
In lieu of flowers, send donations to one of her many charities including Poston Rotary, Cowpunchers Crisis Fund, Ray Alcaida Memorial Scholarship, and the Ryan House.
