Myra Louise Cooper, 85, of Powderly, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 23rd, at Arthur City Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cooper, the daughter of Walter Royce & Ludie Brown Cravens, was born Nov. 19, 1931, in Arthur City. In 1956, she married Malcom Cooper, and he preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Danny Paul Easley, a grandson, Daniel Easley, and a brother, Donald Cravens. She and her husband owned and operated Cooper Grocery Store in Arthur City. Myra was a charter member of the Arthur City Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Moody & husband Garry of Powderly and Jo Nell Easley of Paris, grandchildren; Duane Moody & wife Christie, Jeffery Moody & wife Kristi, Justin Moody & wife DeeAnn, Thomas Easley and Audrey Easley, fifteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, four sisters; Birma Gray of Oak Cliff, Joann Davis of Paris, Charlotte Vanderburg & husband Merrell of Powderly and Robbie Henson of Powderly, one brother, Anthony Cravens of Reno, a sister-in-law, Norma Jean Gossett of Paris along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Duane Moody, Jeffery Moody, Justin Moody, Tommy Kenemore, Brad Moody and David Simpson.
