Marshall Threadgill, Jr., 84, passed away Nov. 3, 2017, at Clyde Cosper Texas State Veteran’s Home in Bonham. Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Highland Cemetery at Deport. The family will receive friends from 4 – 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He was born in Minter, Texas in 1933, to Marshall and Tommie Crockett Threadgill. He graduated from Deport High School before enlisting in the U. S. Air Force. As a staff sergeant, he was a flight engineer stationed at Larson AFB in Moses Lake, Washington. He married Marilyn Bowden in 1956. Marshall was a cattle buyer and rancher, as well as owner of M. T. Farms. He was a member of the Bill Felts Sunday School Class at East Paris Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, three children: Marla Threadgill, Brad Threadgill & wife Kate, and Angela Compton & husband Keith, four grandchildren: Callie White, Austin Sugg & wife Taylor, Trenton Threadgill and Cody Threadgill, two great grandchildren: Alivia White and Lane Sugg, two sisters: Syble Harbison & Carolyn Chance as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
