Frank D. Baker, 82, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 27th, at Springlake Baptist Church with Rev. Herb Bullock officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Baker, the son of John Slater & Mollie Mae Willard Baker, was born March 2, 1933, in Fairfield. He served in the U. S. Air Force from Aug. 22, 1950 – Aug. 21, 1954, during the Korean Conflict. He was in Strategic Air Command and was a Radar Tech on a bomber. He graduated, with honors, from Sam Houston State University with degrees in Mathematics and Physics. His career in mid-management with Texas Instruments spanned thirty-eight years. During those years he worked in engineering, sales, and planning with the last years in research and as training manager for DMOS5, which produced the first 256K silicon memory chip. Frank was a member of Springlake Baptist Church where he taught the Elder Men’s Sunday School Class. He was an amateur Biblical Historian and for forty years has taught at churches in Plano, Lubbock, Wimberley, Wylie and Paris. While living in Plano he was active in Civitan and had served as president of that organization. Survivors include his wife, Sue Craig Baker, whom he married on Aug. 13, 1955, building almost sixty years of family and memories, two children, Alisa Swayze & husband Ken of Wylie and Les Baker & wife Carmen of Mulberry, AR, a grandson, Shea Baker & wife Abby of Cherokee Village, AR, nephews, Michael, Patrick, and Craig Barry, Dobie G. Craig, Lance Craig and Jake Barry, nieces, Kay Lynn Culp, Valarie Busby, Maureen Henderson, and Emily Barry. Honorary casket bearers will be members of Frank’s Sunday School Class at Springlake Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springlake Baptist Church, 3500 Clarksville St., Paris, TX 75460, in Frank’s memory.
