Delores Jean (Hart) (Henexson) Mitchell, age 78, of Kaufman, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Kaufman Healthcare Center.
Delores, the daughter of Rev. Melba Lynn Hart & Leatrice Katherine Hart, was born Oct. 19, 1946, in Chillicothe, Texas. Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and caretaker, Delores was a friend to everyone she met.
Dee’s life of service includes years of providing care for many individuals. She founded the Elroy Community Library in Elroy, Texas. She helped establish an indoor community center in Detroit. She also loved playing the piano and organ almost as much as she loved teaching others how to play them. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives and communities she touched which is a testament to her kindness, faith, and enduring spirit.
Dee will be deeply missed by her children, Jeffrey Dale Henexson and his wife Cindy, Gaylene Annette Baumgartner and her husband Danny, her cherished grandchildren Lauren and Lindsey Baumgartner; Conner, Tamira, and Ava Henexson. She will also be missed by many beloved nieces, nephews, and countless friends who became family to her.
She is survived by her brother, Ronnie D. Hart of Detroit, Tx., and a half-sister, Nina Marie Hart-Delaney. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband - Tommy W. Mitchell, two brothers - Melba J. 'Joe' Hart and Perry E. Hart and a half-brother, Charles Lynn Hart.
Friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of her life on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with visitation at Bright-Holland Funeral Home in Paris, Texas. A graveside service will follow at Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom, Texas, at 2:30 p.m. Reverend Katherine Hart is officiating.
May Delores Jean rest in eternal peace and love, forever in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she so faithfully served.
