Dee Wood, age 78, of Paris and formerly of Bogata, died on June 11th at her home. She was born in Oneonta, Alabama, at her grandparents' home on July 20, 1944. She was the 3rd child born to Clyde T. and Bernice Mize Green. She graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in May 1963. She married James G. Wood on March 17, 1965, in Dallas. Together they owned and operated Wood Funeral Homes in Bogata and Deport until 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, on October 25, 2019, and her daughters Denise Lynne on December 24, 2020, and Juliann on January 11, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bernice Green, and her sister, Ann Cagle. Survivors include her son, Tim J. Wood of Paris; her sister, Betty Burns and her children Jeffrey Alan and Pamela Jannette of Laurel, Mississippi; her brother-in-law James Cagle and wife, Glenda of Collinsville, Alabama; and special friends Dr. Devabrata Ganguly and his wife, Ragini of Paris. The family would like to thank Platinum Hospice for their incredible professionalism and support during the last few months and to Sonia Martinez and Juana Jasso for their excellent care. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct Graveside Services on Wednesday, June 14th at 5:00 pm in Bogata Cemetery with Frankie Norwood speaking.
