The son of Dave S. Robinson and Edna McKinney, he was born December 2, 1940, in Bisbee, Ariz. He graduated from Paris High School in 1958. He was a Navy veteran and had a successful career in the defense industry in Dallas for over 30 years before retiring. But that was just he working life. Dave enjoyed the outdoors and the Texas heat. He was an outdoors sports enthusiast and enjoyed competitive clay target shooting. He explored Texas and beyond with his friends and held countless volunteer roles with different clubs around the north Texas area. After retiring to the Paris area, one of his favorite hobbies was coaching 4H high school kids in gun safety and shooting sports.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dave S. Robinson; his mother, Edna McKinney; and his sister, Eileen Brewer.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances, of Brookston; his daughter Mari Robinson and husband, Greg Ritzen, of Austin; four nieces and nephews, Anthony Brewer and wife, Cherie Bell, of Dallas, Robert Brewer of Brookston, Andy Brewer of Paris, and Elizabeth Crochet and husband, Michael, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, October 4, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home in Paris, TX. Family and Friends are invited to visit and share their memories on this informal Come and Go occasion.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be considered to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, or charity of your choice.
