After spending Christmas with her family, Betty Jean Kennedy (nee Pearce) passed into eternal joy on December 26th, 2024 where she was preceded by her beloved husband Lonnie Wade Kennedy and parents, Ray and Ann Pearce.
Born July 11th, 1939, in Pontiac, MI, Betty grew up with her parents and sister Karen in Taylortown, TX, graduating from Cunningham Highschool in 1956.
At that time, she and Lonnie moved to Paris, TX to begin their life together, where they raised a large family of much-loved children and grandchildren, and where she worked at First Christian Church until retirement.
She is survived by her sister, Karen Ware, her daughters Jill Redus and Angie Kennedy, her grandchildren Jade and Jennifer Wilson, Billy and Angelia Kennedy, Colt Redus, Mason, Loni, and Chloe Bean, her great grandchildren, Kili Neal, Kendal Kennedy, and Kimari McCarty, Connor, Keegan, and Anslee Kennedy, Niko Bean Martinez, and Nevaeh Wilson and her great-great grandchild Kingston Robinson, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to make a special thanks to Melissa McGee, her devoted caregiver, who supported Betty and the family in her final years.
Betty’s philosophy on life was deeply impactful to all who knew her, as her open, loving personality and sassy sense of humor made everyone she knew feel special, earning her a place in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at Southside Baptist Church in Paris, Texas from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org
