Donna was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on August 4, 1931 to Marion Charles Bishop and Cora Mae (Hart) Bishop. Donna graduated from Lakeview High School in the class of 1949. She married Rupert Stanley Hoxie September 3, 1949. He preceded her in death February 13, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, brothers Gordon Bishop and Adelbert Bishop, sisters Beatrice Harper and Charlotte VanDenburg and one grandchild.
Donna is survived by her children, Sons: Stanley (Mary) Hoxie of Battle Creek. Gregory (Kathy) Hoxie of Papillion, Nebraska. Daughters: Lori (John) Gilbert of Papillion, Nebraska, Julie Fowler of Spring Texas and Terri (Dave) Nucolo of Madison Connecticut.
Donna enjoyed reading, dancing and traveling with friends. She was very involved in her church and loved singing in the choir and loved being Grammy to her 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She also had many nieces and nephews. Her gentle spirit remained to the very end, she will be missed by all.
A memorial service for Donna will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, 441 N Washington St, Papillion, Nebraska 68046.
A memorial celebration will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Battle Creek, Michigan at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2435 W. Territorial Road. A gathering of friends will follow the memorial service at Clara's on the River from noon to 2:00 pm.
Memorial donations can be made to Hillcrest Hospice or Samaritan's Purse.
