Virginia Ruth Louis, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 13, 2022 at her residence at Daylesford Crossing in Paoli, PA. Virginia "Ginny" was born September 24th, 1928, in Ashtabula, Ohio to her mother Ruth Yvonne Smith and father Laurel Elmo Smith. She graduated from Ashtabula High School and was a cheerleader throughout her high school years.
Married at age 21 to Kent Mullin, she had two sons, Jack and Steve. Both sons were interested in music and Ginny embraced this being their manager at one time, booking them into small gigs. She took Jack, Steve and several of their friends to the Woodstock in 1969 and was able to get them all very close to the stage. They were pictured in Life Magazine watching the performances.
Newly divorced, Ginny worked as Clerk of Courts for Ashtabula County where she met her future husband, Murray Louis who was deputy sheriff. They had gone to high school together but had lost touch over the years. They were married in 1973 and had a long and loving relationship until his passing in 2017.
Ginny and Murray traveled to Europe for their honeymoon which started her lust for travel. One of her favorite trips was taking the Silk Road trip through China and Russia with her sister. With extended family she also sailed the Volga River in Russia from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
Ginny worked at SEI Investments for several years in the Event Planning Department. She traveled with her sister Loralee West to scout out locations and helped plan and run several of the President's Clubs trips. Her organization skills were amazing.
Ginny loved to sing and was in the choir at Paoli Presbyterian Church for many years. She also loved cooking Jewish food which she learned from mother-in-law Bernise. Matzo Ball soup was her specialty. She was on the landscape committee at Arbordeau where she and Murray lived and could be seen all times of the day -no matter the weather-out tending to the plants.
Ginny is preceded in death by her Mother, Father, sister Marjorie and husband Murray Louis. She is survived by her sister Loralee West, sons Jack and Steve Mullin, niece Paige West, nephews Alfred and Palmer West.
By request of the family, Ginny's services will be private.
