Mrs. Joan Dutzman, 91 passed away on November 10, 2024, at the Meadows at Shannondell. Born June 7, 1933 in Pottsville, PA Joan was the beloved daughter of Alfred and Margaret Dietrich, the loving wife of the late Rudolph Dutzman, and the devoted mother of her late son Christopher Dutzman.
Joan was a 1951 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and a 1954 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. In addition to raising three children, Joan was a Registered Nurse and served in many hospitals, schools, and industrial facilities over her 50+ year nursing career. Later in her career, she specialized in occupational nursing working at Smith Kline and Wyeth Laboratories.
Successfully balancing work and child rearing, Joan loved reading, traveling the world, and spending time with her four grandchildren. During her 62 year marriage with her loving husband Rudolph, who passed away in 2017, the couple resided mainly in the Philadelphia area, as well as Washington, California, and Virginia, spending their final days as residents of Shannondell in Audubon, PA. Joan and Rudy were devoted Catholics and were strong supporters of Saint Isaac Jogues Parish in Wayne, PA for many years.
Joan is survived by her brother James Dietrich and his wife Beverly, her daughter Susan Crackel and husband Kim, her son Matthew Dutzman and wife Lynne, and her four grandchildren Margaret Campbell and husband John, Thomas Crackel and wife Juliana, Laura Dutzman, and Nicole Dutzman.
A private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken, PA. A memorial mass will be held at St Isaac Jogues Church in Wayne, PA for family members.
